Campaign

The campaign missions can be completed with different scores and hence offer challenges for both beginners and ambitious players. Especially for Transport Fever 2 newbies, it is recommended to play the campaign as it introduces the majority of game features step by step.

The missions are set in the historical context of the 19th to 21st century and offer a wide range of real-world transportation challenges. For instance, players are tasked to build a section of the Trans-Siberian Railway, compete with the rising motorised street traffic, optimize existing networks or stand strong against masses of passengers in a mega city. Frame stories make sure the campaigns are entertaining. Tasks include decisions and players can therefore fulfill the goals in several ways. In order to complete one of the three campaign chapter it takes about 10 hours of play time.

The campaign can be reached in the main menu by pressing CAMPAIGN. After selecting a chapter, a misson can be selected. It is possible to continue the last saved mission progress from there as well.

Each mission can be succeded as well as three individual bonus tasks can be solved to earn medals. Once achieved, the dark placeholders switch to gold color in the bottom right corner of the mission selection in campaign menu.

Chapter III

The world is shifting closer together. The volume of passengers is exploding, the global flows of goods are multiplying. Meet the logistical challenges before and after the turn of the millennium. The missions play in the second half of the 20th century until the near future.

The campaigns aim to portray key milestones in the history of transportation as vividly as possible in their historical context.

They also deal with dark chapters in the world’s events, whereby the corresponding episodes are never supposed to be downplayed, and the victims within them never ridiculed. After all, it shouldn’t be left by the wayside that the history of transportation was often and still is a story of conflicts, oppression, and sometimes great suffering.

Accordingly, the value judgments conveyed in the individual missions do not reflect the developers’ own values.
