Looking into the future of Transport Fever 2
As we approach the 4th anniversary of Transport Fever 2, we would like to give an outlook into what lies ahead.
We are currently exploring the possibility of giving players on PS5, Xbox Series and on the Mac App Store, EGS, and GOG access to mod content. We plan to combine this with various other improvements in a major game update for PC and console platforms scheduled for the second half of 2024.
Transparency is important to us: the introduction of cross-platform content is a complex undertaking that can present unforeseen challenges. We are optimistic and committed to delivering the best possible experience for you. Today, we can already assure you that the well-used Steam Workshop for Transport Fever 2 will be unaffected by these developments.
In the meantime, you can expect more minor maintenance fixes to enhance your current gaming experience, with the first maintenance update already going to beta in December. Beyond routine maintenance, the mentioned game update in the second half of 2024 marks what we anticipate to be the concluding major update for Transport Fever 2. With this update, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the community for your ongoing interest and dedication.
Following this final milestone for Transport Fever 2, we have something new and great in the pipeline. It is still far too early, but we are already looking forward to telling you more about it.
Best wishes from the entire Urban Games team.
Maintenance update for Transport Fever 2 available
As previously announced, we have continued to work on improvements for all platforms since the release of the Console Edition. Today’s update for the PC version and Console Edition includes a variety of bug fixes and some improvements for controller interaction.
A detailed overview of all changes can be found in the release notes for PC and consoles in the wiki. There, all fixed bugs and implemented improvements are listed. If the update is installed, the number shown in the right bottom corner of the main menu shows build 35716.
Even after this update, the Transport Fever 2 development team is continuously working on improving the game for PC and console. The passion and support of the players are of great importance in this process.

We are thrilled to announce today that the Transport Fever 2 community has grown to over one million players. Some of you have been on board since the early days of Train Fever, others since Transport Fever or Transport Fever 2, and as of this March, we’ve been able to bring all console players on board as well with the Console Edition. We would like to dedicate this post to say thank you to all of you.

Successful launch of the Console Edition and record number of players on PC
We would like to say a big thank you to our community! The launch of the Console Edition of Transport Fever 2 was successful and we are pleased about the big interest in the game. We worked hard to optimize the interface specifically for PlayStation and Xbox and are thrilled that the game has been well received on these platforms.
The Deluxe Edition has also been successfully released on the PC, and countless “early supporters” were on board right away. Last weekend, a record was even broken! With almost 10,000 players active at the same time, there were more players playing at the same time than at any time since the first months after the release of the PC version over three years ago.
We would also like to emphasize that we are still striving to improve the stability and usability of Transport Fever 2. We know that there is still room for improvement and we are working tirelessly to make the game experience as smooth as possible. That’s why we look forward to bringing you more fixes and improvements for the console and PC versions of Transport Fever 2 in the coming weeks. Thank you for your support!
