Console Edition and new major game update

We are very excited to announce Transport Fever 2: Console Edition as well as a new major game update for PC.

With NACON we have found the ideal partner to publish Transport Fever 2 on consoles and bring the world of our transport simulation to console players. This new version will offer specific controls and an interface adapted to the game on consoles. On top of that, the game’s graphics have been improved thanks to a complete rework of most vehicles such as trains, buses, aircraft and ships.

Transport Fever 2: Console Edition will be available on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One and Xbox Series in February 2023.

At the same time we will be releasing a free major game update for PC that will bring the enhancements of the Console Edition to PC as well:

  • Better graphics: Vehicles are modelled in even more detail and the rendering has been optimized.
  • Increased stability and performance: Many optimizations in the area of simulation performance, memory usage, loading times and more.
  • Console interface and controller support: PC players have the possibility to switch between the classic and the new interface which is optimized for controllers.
  • Many other small enhancements and bug fixes.

We are excited to welcome the console community soon and we remain committed to improve Transport Fever 2 further on all platforms. Thanks for your interest and all the best from the entire Urban Games team!

  2. I hope that the optimazations did not mean that some mechanics would be simplified. For example, paggengers. Now they will travel the whole map. I hope they will also do after the new update.

  3. Will you be bringing any new balancing to the game, like the ability to buy factory’s or improvements to the road choices such as trams only roads, so you can play in vanilla mod.

  5. I can’t wait to see this, not because of the consoles but so that I can get a controller control scheme for PC and especially Steam Deck. Given that Planet Coaster allows mouse and keyboard support on consoles will you be following suit and making both control schemes available on both PC and Console?

  6. I was thinking about how their would be keyboard and mouse on Transport fever 2 Console edition and how their would be a Controller Version in the PC version and how you can change from controller to keyboard and mouse Vice versa in PC and Console Edition

    • Gute Nachrichten.

  9. Congratulations on the third anniversary of “TpF2”.
And since the “console version” will really be released, I’m also interested in that. (I thought it was in the previous release I saw on Steam, but it’s not)

Recently, I upgraded my PC specs from “Core i7-5960X” to “Core i5-13600K + PCIe4.0 SSD”. However, I didn’t feel any improvement due to the PC spec upgrade on the super-large map published on the workbench.
Will there be another performance patch in the future?
